10 weeks
Aidan is getting so big! He’s starting to really grow and change. He’s started drooling a lot and is constantly blowing bubbles. He loves to smile and is still working hard on his laugh
He’s also rolled over a few times, front to back (on a soft bed, next to me, so kind of cheating
).
The past week he’s started this new thing which is supposedly the development of his startle reflex. Sometimes when he’s laying on his back, he’ll all of a sudden jerk his arms and legs straight out, get this terrified look on his face and start crying like he’s really scared. It almost looks like he thinks he’s falling, poor baby
He also sleep for 6 straight hours the other night! That was wonderful
Not that it’s become a habit or anything yet, but it was most definitely the longest stretch of sleep I’ve had since before he was born.
We’re looking forward to our upcoming visit to Pa, though I am nervous about the drive. Aidan doesn’t always like his carseat. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as I’m expecting.

Late Nights
We’ve had a couple of rough nights the past few days. Aidan has been getting really gassy, which doesn’t seem to bother him too much during the day, but for some reason, he’s waking up sometime between 1-4am, and he won’t go back to sleep until he gets the gas out. So that means we’ve been up for 3-4 hours at a time. By that time, both of us are overtired, frustrated and cranky. Needless to say, we’ve been taking a lot of naps together.
I was thinking that he was getting so gassy because of the way he was breastfeeding, so I called one of the local LLL (La Leche League) leaders today and was able to talk to her for a while. She said it’s actually pretty normal, and gave me some ideas to try to help with the gas. She also said it just might take him a few weeks to grow out of it. Which, while that doesn’t mean there’s a quick fix, it also means that it’s not from anything I’m doing. So, we’ll try what she suggested and hopefully it will help. Otherwise, the LLL meeting is next Friday, and we’ll go if we still need help. It’s so nice to have someone local that I can call and ask questions. So much more helpful and reassuring then reading something on a computer screen.
